The Magic of Disney World

If I were to ask you what the magic of Disney World was, how would you describe it?

If I had to guess, most people would mention moments like seeing Cinderella Castle or Tree of Life for the first time. Maybe watching the fireworks at the end of a long day. Or meeting their favorite character. Maybe getting on their favorite ride in record time. Or watching the castle light up at Christmas.

Those are all such amazing magical moments, but for me, when I think of the magic of Disney, I canโ€™t help but see things a little different.

This magic shows itself most clearly when I get excited about small moments that may not seem like a big deal to anyone else, but mean everything to me.

Itโ€™s wearing a sweatshirt that your brother got you for one of your favorite rides and having a cast member move you to the front of the line before you make it to the attraction.

Itโ€™s walking 20,000+ steps on New Yearโ€™s Eve, being dead tired, overstimulated, and just needing to pee before fireworks. But you have a great conversation about life with a stranger while waiting in the bathroom line.

Itโ€™s rope dropping, and getting to walk through Journey of Water with no one else around so you get the best picture of Te Fiti youโ€™ve ever tried to take.

Itโ€™s being told a pin you need to complete the set is nearly impossible to findโ€ฆ and spotting it on the very next board. And even if itโ€™s a fake, it looks real enough and completes your set.

Itโ€™s going on a trip to Walt Disney World with your husband without other family members. You get to spend the entire time making amazing memories with your best friend.

Itโ€™s watching your Nana celebrate her 80th birthday on her first trip to Disney. Everything feels new again because youโ€™re seeing it through her eyes.

Each of these moments is magical in their own quiet way and add up to some truly unforgettable trips.

Going to Disney reminds me that this magic isnโ€™t suspended reality or ignoring life outside the โ€œDisney bubbleโ€.

Itโ€™s paying attention to the little things.

Itโ€™s finding something precious in ordinary moments and deciding those moments matter.

Those are my favorite moments in life and Disney helps remind me of that.

It reminds me to slow down, and look for those moments in everyday life. Even though things may get bad in the world, there is always a little magic out there to make you smile.

Magic of Disney

Disney brings people together in a way that not much else can. And I am so thankful that you are here sharing in this magic with me now.

Tell me, whatโ€™s a โ€œsmallโ€ Disney moment that felt big to you?

If youโ€™ve experienced a magical moment at Disney, big or small, Iโ€™d love to hear about it. Share your story in the comments!
