Our Disney Pin Collection: Favorites, Sets, and What We’re Looking For

We were told it was the hardest pin to find… and then there it was. Sitting on the very next board like it had been waiting for us.

The last pin in our Winnie the Pooh Silhouette Collection: Pooh.

It was so exciting and magical and reminded me once again why I love pin trading at Disney World so much.

In this post, I’m sharing how our collection started, what we love collecting, our favorite pins, and the sets we’re currently chasing.

How Our Disney Pin Collection Started

My family has been collecting Disney pins for as long as I can remember. Every trip, my mom made sure that we got a pin from the resort we were staying at and one with the year we visited.

It was such a simple tradition, but it turned into one of my favorite ways to hold onto those trips.

Small, easy to pack, and somehow able to carry so many memories.

Now that Ethan and I are traveling to Disney World on our own, my Disney pin collection has turned into our Disney pin collection – and it’s grown into something even more meaningful (and a little more chaotic in the best way).

What We Collect

We’ve held onto the tradition of collecting Disney resort pins and year pins, but over time our pin collection has definitely taken on a personality of its own.

I’m drawn to anything Eeyore or princess-related (no surprise there), and I have a soft spot for sidekicks.

But if I’m being honest, some of my absolute favorites are the Disney characters turned into food – especially the Munchlings collections.

They’re equal parts adorable and creative, and I can never resist them. Tell me I’m not the only one!

Ethan tends to gravitate toward pins that feel more nostalgic. He loves the Fab Five and designs that capture that classic Disney atmosphere that so many of us grew up with.

Looking at his favorites feels a bit more like flipping through a Disney scrapbook, while mine often look like someone raided the park snack carts and turned everything into a collectible.

That mix of styles is what makes our Disney pin collection feel like us instead of just a random assortment of pins.

Of course, once your collection starts multiplying, you need a system to organize.

How We Keep Track of Our Pins

As our collection began growing, we realized pretty quickly that we needed a better way to keep track of everything – especially the sets we were trying to complete.

My family and I have a shared photo album where we add pictures of sets we are collecting, but that was getting a little confusing to keep track of who was collecting what.

Recently we have found Pin & Pop, a free website where you can create an account to organize your pins, track your Disney pin collection, and also have the ability to trade if you want.

It’s actually how we discovered that a couple of sets we thought were complete… weren’t.

My Favorite Pins

We’ve collected a lot of pins over the years, but a few of them always stand out. Some for the design, some for the memories, and some just because they make me smile every time I see them.

5. Merida – Disney Designer Collection (2022)

I’ve always loved Merida, but this version of her is just stunning. The detail in the dress is what caught my eye first, and it feels a little more elevated than your typical character pin. It’s one of those pins that I didn’t overthink, I saw it and immediately knew it was coming home with me.

4.Grand Floridian Mickey and Minnie Walking Pluto (2002)

This one is pure nostalgia. It’s one of the earliest pins I remember having, and somehow it’s stuck with me through every phase of collecting. There’s something about it that just feels classic, like a snapshot of older Disney trips that I never want to forget.

3. Eeyore Wild Blueberry Muffin (2022)

I mean… Eeyore as a muffin. That’s it. That’s the reason

But really, the Munchlings pins are some of my favorites, and this one is just peak adorable. It’s impossible to look at it and not smile a little.

2. Pewter Cinderella’s Castle (2000)

This one takes me straight back to my earliest Disney memories. It’s simple, a little heavier than most pins, and feels almost timeless. Every time I see it, I think of those first trips and how everything felt so big and magical.

1. Mickey Iron Sculpted Gold Bronze Leaves/Vine (2012)

This might not be the flashiest pin in our collection, but that’s exactly why I love it. It’s simple in the best way, with just enough detail to make it feel special without trying too hard. It’s one of those pins that doesn’t demand attention… but somehow always gets it anyway.

Ethan’s Favorite Pins

Ethan’s favorites lean a little different than mine, which is part of what makes our collection so much fun.

I’ll let him explain these in his own words, because he definitely has his own opinions about what makes a great pin.

5. Cool Characters in Sunglasses – Donald (2012)

I think the reason I like this one so much is because Donald always seems to be giving off so much attitude. It also feels like you only ever see Donald with a shirt and no pants, so seeing him dressed up a little differently makes it stand out.

4. Cinderella – 1950 (2001)

My number one and number four picks actually go together. When you think of Disney World, what icon comes to mind? For me, it’s Cinderella Castle. And who lives in the castle? Cinderella, of course. This pin captures the classic princess that comes to mind when I think of Disney.

3. Oogie Boogie (2018)

Oogie Boogie is one of the first Disney villains I remember learning about. He’s creepy enough to be a villain but still has a fun, over-the-top personality that makes him memorable.

2. Aztec Gold Coin – Pirates of the Caribbean (2021)

This is the heaviest and biggest pin we own. When you’re a kid, wanting to be a pirate is practically a rite of passage, so I’ve always loved anything connected to pirates. The unique shape and weight of this pin make it feel especially cool.

1. Pewter Cinderella’s Castle (2000)

Like I said before, when you think of Disney, it’s hard not to think about Cinderella Castle. It’s the centerpiece of Magic Kingdom and one of the most recognizable Disney icons in the world. This pin perfectly captures that classic Disney feeling, which is why it’s my favorite pin in our collection.

While Ethan and I definitely have different tastes when it comes to individual pins, there’s one thing we completely agree on: few things are as rewarding as finishing a set.

Completed Sets

One of the most satisfying parts of pin collecting is finally completing a set, especially when it takes multiple trips, a little luck, or some determined trading to track down the last pin.

We’ve completed a handful of sets over the years, and finishing them always feels like a small victory. Here are the sets we’ve managed to complete so far:

Of course, finishing sets just means one thing… it’s time to start chasing new ones.

Tips for Starting Your Own Disney Pin Collection

If you’re thinking about starting your own Disney pin collection, here are a few quick tips:

Look for pins you genuinely love (characters, rides, food, anything!)
Don’t feel pressured to complete sets right away; the fun is the chase.
Keep track of your pins early – your collection will grow faster than you think.
Have fun with it – there’s no “right way” to collect.
